As classes are beginning for high school and college students, one problem many Smart Girls face is figuring out what to wear to class. Crop tops and high waisted shorts are perfect for this hot weather; however, they may be inappropriate for school. So, what should a Smart Girl do? Rest assured, I have compiled a list of a few cute, yet appropriate, back to school outfits.
1. Pair Tailored Shorts with a Tank
Tucking your shirt in and wearing a cute belt can polish any look, and it is an appropriate ensemble for school! Another adorable way is to accessorize and dress up your outfit. For instance, pair your tank tops with a bubble necklace; it is a must-have accessory!
Tailored shorts and a tank top are two versatile pieces, which allows them to be mixed and matched into many combinations. If your school blasts the air conditioning all day long, layer a button up cardigan over this outfit. Pair it with flats or sandals to keep comfortable all day long. The shorts shown can be found at The Gap Inc. and are currently on sale for $13. The tank top shown is $13.80 from Forever 21.
2. Rock a Dress
If you’re more into dressing up for class, try a loose-fitting dress with combat boots and a faux leather jacket. This look has the perfect mix of edge while still looking feminine. This outfit is a guaranteed head-turner. I personally love Free People dresses, which range from $40-$200 and Steve Madden boots which range from $70-150. Both are pictured below.
3. Go Casual with Leggings
For the most comfortable look all day long, mix and match leggings with a tunic top. Victoria’s Secret Pink collection has a wide variety of leggings from plain black, to sequin tuxedo stripes. They also are opaque so that they are not see-through when you bend over, like most other leggings. They cost $19.50 per pair or, if you want two pairs, they cost $30. Tunic tops can be found almost anywhere. The tunic top pictured below is also from Victoria’s Secret. It costs $24.50 for one or, if you want two, it costs $40. Victoria’s Secrets offer a wide variety of colors, plus, the quality is great!
All clothes can be found in retail stores or online by clicking on each picture.
These outfits are appropriate, and cute for class. Keep in mind that pieces from each outfit can be paired together to create looks all school year long. Mix leggings with boots or pair a bubble necklace and tunic because the possibilities are endless. So, feel free to make your own twist and let your personal style shine through. What will you wear on the first day of class, Smart Girl?
