The winter is infamous for making skin dry, and dry skin can equal cakey makeup. I love to look for products in the winter that are light and will make my skin look dewy. A type of product that has been really catching my eye this year is gel blushes; they are light, jelly like blushes. I was skeptical of these blushes at first, I figured that if they are gel they won’t have great pigmentation; but i was proven wrong they provide a very nice flush of color to your cheeks. I have also found that many companies add wonderful ingredients to their blushes. My two favorite companies for this kind of product are Tarte and Josie Maran.
Tarte’s gel product is called Cheek Stain, it has so many moisturizing ingredients. I said before that winter can dry your skin out; to prevent enhancing this dryness Cheek Stain is a water based gel formula. Therefore it is oil, and alcohol free so it won’t try out your skin, or clog your pores. The pure water also helps your skin retain moisture, and the pigment has soothing and softening qualities. This Tarte blush comes in eight different shades ranging from light to a darker berry color, thus making them suitable for all skin colors.
Josie Maran’s gel product is called Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee. Now, from the name I am sure you can tell one of the main ingredients in this stand out product… Coconut Water! I love this ingredient not just to drink, but in makeup too. The Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee is 50% Coconut Water, and has 100% natural Argan Oil. Together these ingredients make this product extremely hydrating and dewy. Most ingredients in this blush are either organic or natural, which is just amazing. Josie Maran’s Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee comes in six outstanding shades all of which are feel light and are very wearable .
Both products talked about are made without Parabens and Sulfates. One of my favorite things about these products is that they can be easily blended with your fingers, talk about easy!
