Having a backpack that does it all is essential for going back to school this year. I often struggle to find a bag that has all I need it to have so this year I have compiled a list of bags that differ in price, make, model, and style with the hope that everyone can find a bag that suits their needs!
The transport rucksack in waxed canvas bag by Madewell is at the higher end of the price range but is durable, stylish and functional. It’s a bag that is made to be broken in and can be filled to the brim with all your daily essentials. My favorite features are the interior and exterior pockets which make it easy to find those items that you need to be able to grab on the go. This bag costs $148, but I do believe it’s worth every penny!
Herschel Supply Company is an awesome company that has grown in popularity recently. Herschel has several backpacks to offer but one of my favorites is the Classic Backpack, which comes in several patterns and colors; my favorite of which is the woodland camo pattern. The bag has a timeless design that includes a simple front pocket and a fabric liner. This bag is cheaper, as it costs a mere $39.00.
Many of you may be familiar with Urban Outfitters staple label called BDG. BDG’s canvas backpack is available through Urban Outfitters website, with select patterns in store as well. You are sure to find one that is pleasing to you since it comes in 11 color schemes and patterns. The bag is currently on sale for $34.00 which is a ten dollar discount from its usual price. My personal favorite pattern is the color block pattern pictured here.
Another never-fail back to school bag is the Jansport backpack. I have used Jansport since elementary school and I have never had a complaint. These bags have the most patterns and color choices that I’ve seen and are sure to be sturdy enough to fit everything you need to tote to class. Jansport’s website allows you to choose a sliding price range scale and then look through their patterns. The bags range from $45 to $75. My personal favorite is the digibreak backpack, pictured here, which costs $40.
Another smart option for when you don’t need a backpack but still need your student ID and cell phone is the Lilly Pulitzer Carded ID Smart Phone Wristlet. The wristlet is perfect for keeping your essentials intact and can be great for going out, as well. Vera Bradley has a similar wristlet that is more or less the same price range but offers different patterns! You can also clip these wristlets to your backpack when you need both. The Lilly wristlet can be ordered on their website or on Zappo’s with free shipping for $38.00.
Aside from backpacks and wristlets, another back to school essential is a lunch box. I personally like to make my own lunch and many of my friends without meal plans do the same. Whether you don’t have time between classes to eat and need to bring it to class, or just want to pack snacks, this Urban Outfitter’s lunch box is small enough to tote around in a backpack and is bound by a rubber band to keep your food from moving around! My favorite part about this lunch box is that the price is right at only $10.
Some people prefer a larger lunch tote that can fit water bottles, and most importantly larger amounts of food! Target is one of my favorite places to shop for lunch bags because they’re stylish yet functional. This Igloo fashion tote is the perfect size for lunch and fits an ice pack and water bottle nicely. The best part is, it only costs $7.99!
